 What is the best age for a Lifestyle Newborn Session?

The window of opportunity for these ridiculously cute newborn photo shoots is between 1 week and 6 weeks old. Over the years I have found that the optimal time slot within that bracket is around the 2 week mark. By this time mum has had some time to recover a little, feeding is established and baby still has all those squishy newborn features you don’t want to miss out on.

How long will it take to receive my gallery and how many photos will it contain?

After we finish up your in home session you will receive your online gallery within 3 weeks.

One the very best things about my lifestyle newborn sessions is that you receive ALL the edited photos. Yes you read that correctly lol, I edit everything that is good and you get it. No tough choices, to in person pressure selling. These are your photos and I want you to enjoy them all. On average this is somewhere between 30-40 shots.

But my home doesn’t look like a studio.
How do I know if my home is right for a lifestyle photo shoot?

Do you have natural light pouring into your home?
That’s the key element and all you need in order for us to shoot a successful Lifetsyle Newborn Session in your home. Sure spending 5 minutes to hide the clutter and throw on

When should we book up our babies photo shoot?

As soon as you know I’m the photog for you and your tribe get in touch to steal your spot.
The sooner the better is honestly the best policy with regards to booking in order to avoid disappointment.
I accept a limited number of newborn sessions per month to ensure the highest level of service for every family I work with. So I would always say to reach out at the earliest opportunity

Can we include our pet in the newborn session?

Yes, yes, and yes!
110% you can include your 4 legged family member in the session.
Now I can’t promise what we’ll get because that’s doggy dependant but am I game for it, 1 million percent.

Do you give RAW unedited photos?

Simply, no.
I do not release RAW or unedited images under any circumstances.
This is to ensure brand consistency. I only allow images and edits out into the world that represent my brand and align with the CopperRed vision.

How many weddings do you take per year?

When I decided to focus my photography passion into weddings I knew that I wanted to provide my couples with a very personal experience. To do this I knew that I needed to have a strict cap on how many weddings I can take on each year.
My aim is for quality over quantity, to avoid spreading myself too thin and ensuring the very best experience for you from start to end.

Currently I look to take on a maximum of 20.

What if there’s bad weather?

I love the rain, maybe it’s the die hard born and raised Brit in me or maybe it’s the instant romance it tends to bring, but either way I honestly love it. I highly encourage you to embrace whatever weather may come our way on the day. The uniqueness of the photos crazy weather can produce is often stunning.
If however the elements are set to be unsafe, cause a miserable session or ruin my gear I will always look to reschedule.

How long have you been a photographer?

I first picked up a camera in 2012 but launched my photography business in 2014 after our first kiddo turned one. I cannot believe that I’m now in the 6th year! Nuts.
Still addicted to love and capturing it through my lens.

How does the booking process work?

It’s super straight forward, music to your ears lol.

Once you have spent some time checking my work out, getting to know me (let’s meet for a coffee or if you’re a wine lover we can totally grab a glass together) and asking any and all questions you give me the heads up that you’re ready to steal your date.
At that time a $350 retainer fee is taken and an electronic contract signed and it’s complete, the date is all yours.

How far in advance do you accept bookings?

There are no limits to how far off I accept bookings but typically couples book up anywhere from 12-24 months in advance. If you have a prime date such as a long weekend or a Saturday be sure to get in touch as soon as you can to steal your date and avoid disappointment. There are only so many Saturdays in each wedding season.

What is your turnaround time?

My turnaround time for wedding galleries is 2 to 4 months. Where you fall within that depends on where your wedding falls within the order weddings of that year. For example if your wedding is one of the first few then turnaround is closer to the 2 month mark. If your wedding is later in the wedding season then it would have a turnaround time of closer to the 4 month mark.
While I am editing your gallery I will be sharing previews and can get you a couple of options for thank you cards should you need them sooner than your full gallery.

How do we know if we need a 2nd shooter?

There are so many amazing perks to your wedding day photography by having a second shooter.

We are able to cover the bridal prep and groom prep in their entirity.
You are able to have multiple angles covered as you walk down the aisle instead of having to pick.
During the ceremony and reception we are able to cover both the guests and bridal party with ease.

What if we need to cancel/reschedule our session or wedding?

If you’ve paid your retainer and choose to reschedule or cancel your booked date the retainer is legally non-refundable. A new retainer fee would be needed to be paid to secure another date.
If the cancellation is made by myself for weather reasons then the original retainer would of course carry over to your next date.

What happens if you can’t make our wedding?

Heaven forbid this ever happens. Firstly I want you to know it has NEVER happened to date and the only way it would arise would be for reasons far out of my control, such as an act of God, severe illness or death. Although not legally bound to do so I would do my utmost to find you another photographer with a similar style and that I trust. If you’ve booked a package with a 2nd shooter please know that we always travel separately for this very extreme reason. By travelling separately in the worst scenario of an accident on route they would still be showing up.
If I can’t make it to your wedding your money would be refunded.

If we pay cash can we avoid the tax?

I have spent many years building a reputable and honest company and so do not offer tax deduction for paying cash. Taxes will always be applied regardless of payment method.

Do you offer discounts?

Nope.
