The morning began with both Kristalyn and Steven getting ready right on the grounds of The Briars Resort, which makes the entire wedding day feel relaxed and seamless.
Kristalyn spent the morning with her bridesmaids in one of the resort rooms overlooking the beautiful property. The atmosphere was filled with excitement, laughter, and a few happy tears as everyone prepared for the day ahead.
Meanwhile, Steven and his groomsmen enjoyed a calm and relaxed morning nearby, sharing stories and soaking in the anticipation of the day before the celebrations began.
One of the biggest advantages of hosting your wedding at The Briars in Jackson’s Point is the ability for everyone to stay on-site. With accommodations, ceremony locations, and reception spaces all within walking distance, the day flows naturally without the need for travel between locations.
A Gorgeous Outdoor Ceremony
Kristalyn and Steven chose to exchange vows during an outdoor ceremony on the beautiful grounds of The Briars.
With lush gardens, mature trees, and views stretching toward Lake Simcoe, the setting felt intimate, romantic, and peaceful. The sunshine poured through the trees as guests gathered on the lawn to witness the moment Kristalyn walked down the aisle.
It was one of those ceremonies where you could feel the emotion in the air — smiles, laughter, and the kind of quiet moments that remind everyone why weddings are so special.
The Briars offers several stunning outdoor ceremony locations, including the front lawn and waterfront areas overlooking Lake Simcoe, each providing a breathtaking backdrop for wedding photography.
Cocktail Hour on the Lawns
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour outside on the lawns, taking full advantage of the warm sunny weather.
One of the things I love most about photographing weddings at The Briars is how much space the venue offers. Guests can wander the grounds, enjoy drinks outdoors, and take in the scenery while the couple sneaks away for portraits.
The relaxed atmosphere allows everyone to truly enjoy the celebration while the day unfolds naturally.
Bridal Party & Couple Portraits
After the ceremony, we explored the property with Kristalyn, Steven, and their bridal party for portraits.
The grounds at The Briars offer so many beautiful photo locations — from the historic buildings and gardens to the scenic pathways that weave through the property.
Later in the evening, we made our way down to the shoreline of Lake Simcoe just in time for sunset. The light reflecting off the water created the most beautiful golden glow, making it the perfect moment for some quiet portraits of the newlyweds together.
Sunset portraits are always one of my favourite parts of a wedding day. After the excitement of the ceremony and cocktail hour, couples finally get a moment to slow down and take it all in.
A Joyful Reception Celebration
As the evening began, everyone gathered to celebrate Kristalyn and Steven’s marriage with an incredible reception filled with heartfelt speeches, laughter, and plenty of dancing.
The reception space at The Briars perfectly complements the elegance of the day, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere for dinner and celebration.
From emotional toasts to a packed dance floor later in the evening, it was clear that Kristalyn and Steven are surrounded by an incredible community of friends and family who were overjoyed to celebrate alongside them.
